We can advise you in all areas of Youth Court work
We have a strong following in the youth court which is attributable to our down to earth approach.
We are able to provide youths with advice on complicated matters in a way that they will find easy to understand. We understand that youth prosecutions can have long lasting effects and are often very stressful for the entire family. Tom, Gemma and Nathan are highly experienced youth court practitioners. Being parents themselves they are experienced in talking with young children in a friendly manner. If your child has the misfortune of facing a criminal prosecution, please contact us where a member of our dedicated team will be pleased to help.
The Youth Court differs vastly from the Magistrates' Court and the Crown Court.
The legislation surrounding people under the age of 18 is very different both in terms of sentence and in terms of available Court Orders or Youth Rehabilitation Orders. In certain circumstances the court has the power to impose referral orders which are immediately classed as spent convictions upon completion. In some cases Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Orders can be made as a direct alternative to sending the young person to a Young Offenders Institution, and in some cases the court can impose a detention and training order of up to two years. It is vital that your child is represented by a solicitor who has extensive Youth Court experience.
